β¨ AI Features
Artificial intelligence will become an integral part of our software. Planned features include smart functions for automatic analysis, generation of status reports, creation of project plans and templates, and much more.
- AI Chat and AI Search β An integrated chatbot enables natural language dialogs and searches all project data contextually in real time.
- AI Flavors β Based on natural language input as a condition and the task context, the AI automatically populates field values when creating new tasks.
- AI Agents β AI agents act as users within the system, autonomously completing assigned routine tasks based on context and documenting progress.
- Project Setup β When creating new projects, the AI automatically generates suitable project structures, tasks, and project plans based on a simple project description.
- Generate Project Plan β Generates a project plan including milestones and dependencies.
- Status Reports β Drafts for status reports are created at the click of a button from live data, including project progress, and suggested auto-generated texts.
- Risk Analyses β Proactively identifies potential project risks and suggests suitable countermeasures. During project setup, potential risks are already proposed based on past experiences.
- Lessons Learned β Provides proactive recommendations for action based on insights from completed projects.
- AI-Powered Formulas β Generates appropriate formulas for flavors (custom fields) based on a simple description of the objective.
- Writing Assistant β A writing assistant drafts and optimizes texts for clarity, tone, and multilingual support directly within all editor interfaces.
- Subtask Generation β Based on a task description and/or to-do lists, detailed subtasks are automatically created.
πAPI Enhancements
In 2025, we will significantly expand our API to enable even more flexibility and integrations. New endpoints and more powerful interfaces will facilitate data exchange and automation. This will make it even easier to integrate smenso into existing systems. A comprehensive API documentation will be released very soon.
π Automations
Automatically triggering actions within smenso will take the platform to the next level. A wide range of if-then automations will be available out of the box (e.g., changing assigned persons when statuses or folders change, or adjusting priorities when due dates approach, and so on β many things are possible!)
βοΈ Improved Management of Flavors (Custom Fields)
The selection menus for flavors will be redesigned to provide better clarity when dealing with a large number of fields.
βοΈ Smarter and More Personalized Notifications
Notifications will become smarter, more personalized, and more relevant.
ποΈ BIM Integration
With BIM (Building Information Modeling), we are expanding smenso with a key feature for construction and infrastructure projects.
Integrate models directly into smenso
Simplify collaboration through a shared data foundation
Gain more transparency in planning and execution
This makes it possible to manage construction projects even more efficiently and ensure that all stakeholders are always up to date.
β Redesigned Task Detail View
Weβre reorganizing the task detail view to provide more space and more focus on the important things.
𧱠Redesigned Board Views
The board views will become more flexible and more clearly structured.
β©οΈ Extended dependencies between tasks
Additional dependency types will soon be available between tasks β beyond the existing Finish-to-Start relationship, also Start-to-Start, Finish-to-Finish, and Start-to-Finish. These dependency types will not only be displayed in the Gantt/Timeline view and in task details, but will also be taken into account by the Assistant when resolving scheduling conflicts.
βοΈ Time buffers for planning
To manage projects in smenso even more efficiently, time buffers can soon be scheduled between tasks or milestones. These buffers will also be automatically taken into account by the Assistant when resolving scheduling conflicts.
β‘οΈ Gantt Enhancements
Advanced Dependencies Between Tasks
Additional relationship types between tasks will be available in the futureβincluding Start-Start, End-End, and Start-End, in addition to the existing Start-End relationship. These dependency types will not only be displayed in the Gantt/Timeline view and in the task details, but will also be taken into account in Automatic Scheduling when resolving overlaps.
Time buffers in planning
To manage projects in smenso even more efficiently, time buffers can now be scheduled between tasks or milestones. These are also automatically taken into account in Automatic Scheduling when resolving overlaps.
Backward Planning
The Automatic Planning feature has been expanded to include backward planning. This allows tasks to be scheduled backward from a defined end date, ensuring that dependent tasks begin on time. As a result, smenso will now also support planning scenarios where fixed completion dates are the primary focus.
Duration
With the new Duration field in tasks, start and end dates can be scheduled even more easily in the future. If a duration is specified, smenso automatically calculates the end date based on the start date. This allows tasks to be planned more quickly and timelines to be mapped more consistently.
π§ More Personal Views (Start, My Tasks)
There will be more widgets for the start area focused on your own work. Additionally, the "Tasks" menu will be extended β "My Tasks" will gain more flexibility and views.
π Sharing Public Links
Saved views β for example, of a task list within a project or a timeline view β will be shareable via a public link. This allows third parties without smenso access to view the information directly in their browser.
ποΈ Planned Releases
We kindly ask for your understanding that we cannot provide specific release dates for new features. We always strive to deliver our best work to shape smenso in line with our vision. Along the way, we will continuously implement improvements and add the listed features as quickly as possible.
