A saved insight can be turned into a presentation: The AI plans slides with statements, figures and questions for the discussion. If you prefer to work without AI, use the quick view, which places each widget on its own slide. This article explains how to start a presentation, how it is structured and how to customise its appearance.
Please note
The presentation is part of AI Insights and is only available if AI is enabled in the workspace. A presentation with AI uses credits (see How AI credits work). The quick view does not use AI.
Starting a presentation
- Open a saved insight under
Insightsin the project. - Click the presentation icon in the header (
Drill down β show insight as presentation). - If no presentation exists for the insight yet, the
Drill downdialogue opens with two options:-
Create presentation with AI: Slides with statements and questions based on the insight's figures, then saved. -
Quick view without AI: Each widget on one slide, with the insights as a conclusion.
-
When you select Create presentation with AI, a message (βsmenso AI is planning the slides β¦β) indicates that the slides are being created. The presentation then opens. Once it has been created, the same icon opens the saved presentation directly the next time.
How the presentation is structured
- Title slide: The title of the insight, followed by the project and date, and optionally the From line. The example had 5 slides in total.
- Content slides: The heading states the slide's message, for example βCosts are 20% above plan β project traffic light is under observationβ. The relevant widgets and bullet points with the key figures are shown alongside it.
-
Conclusion slide: Under
In summary, it summarises the most important points and, underWe should follow up on this, lists questions for the discussion.
Every figure in the texts comes from the calculated values of the insight. The AI does not mention people's names; people appear anonymously. At the bottom of each slide, the title, a progress bar and the slide number are displayed.
Note
The slides themselves cannot yet be edited, and there is no separate prompt for the presentation. If something should look different, adjust the insight and create the presentation again.
Navigating through the presentation
The control bar is displayed at the bottom. It disappears after a short time and reappears as soon as you move the mouse. From left to right, it contains:

Customising the appearance
Use Customise appearance to specify what the slides display. The selection takes effect immediately, remains saved and also applies when printing. It does not require AI and does not use any credits.

Highlight changed figures: marks figures that have changed since the presentation was created.
If the insight changes
If the insight changes after the presentation is created, the presentation displays the message βThe insight has changed since this presentation was created.β at the top. Click Create again to have the AI create the presentation again; the message can be hidden using the Γ. You can also create the presentation again at any time using Create again with AI in the control bar. smenso then asks for confirmation (βCreate presentation again with AI? The current one will be replaced.β). Creating it again uses credits once more.

Why can't I select the company logo?
