Tasks can be saved as templates. With task templates you can easily reuse tasks. This is handy if tasks should follow certain processes or e.g. if they should always contain certain flavors (additional fields) or have a couple of subtasks - simply for everything you might want to reuse in the future.
Important to know:
- Task templates store all fields that can exist in a task, including flavors, files or subtasks.
- Templates are saved for the entire workspace, but the visibility for different groups can be defined.
Create new tasks from a template
- In (task) list views and (task) board views, optional add buttons are available in several places, marked with a
down arrow
():
- In a list on top level:
- In a list on task level:

. By usingCustomize included fields
you can select the fields and values to be included and appended from the template. - Activate the switch
Overwrite field contents
, if existing field contents (e.g. dates) are to be overwritten. If the switch is inactive, existing field contents are ignored, even if other values would be available in the template.
Note
When task templates are applied to a task, regardless of whether the task is new and empty or already filled with content, filled fields are ignored by default. Already prefilled data will not be lost by applying a template.
Apply templates to existing subtasks
Task templates can also be applied to subtasks. However, if a template itself has subtasks, these will be ignored when the template is applied to a subtask.
