A new project can be created via the + New project button in the main menu.
In the project creation wizard, you can choose whether to create an empty project or use an existing template. More information on creating a project from a template can be found in the article Using project templates.
Creating a new (empty) project

Already used project titles are shown as suggestions. Duplicate project titles are not allowed - smenso prevents the creation of a project with a name that is already in use.

Project ID: The project ID is a short code that identifies the project system-wide and is used as a prefix before task IDs.

Avatar menu>Settings>General>Project IDs. New projects will then automatically receive a consecutive ID - without manual input. - Select a

- In the next step, you can optionally choose whether the project should initially be created as inactive, whether you want to set yourself as a watcher, and whether you should be taken directly into the project.
- Confirm the project creation by clicking
Create project- done.
Adding more settings
Via More settings in the project creation dialog, you can configure additional settings during creation. All settings can alternatively be changed afterwards under Manage project > Settings.

Project lead: Define one or more responsible people -
Budget: Define a rough overall budget -
Project start / Project end: Define start and end dates

Visibility: Define whether the project is open or private. See the article Setting projects to private for more information.

Workflow: Set a custom workflow as the default for new tasks in this project. Without a selection, the system default is used (Not started / In progress / Done).
The last step summarizes all entered data. Click Create project to create the project.

How do I create a new project in smenso?
Click + New project in the main menu, select Empty project and follow the project creation wizard.
Can I use a project name that already exists?
No. smenso prevents the creation of projects with names that are already in use. Existing titles are shown as suggestions in the name field.
What is the Project ID and do I have to provide one?
The project ID is a short code that identifies the project system-wide and is used as a prefix before task IDs. It is optional. Workspace owners can enable sequential numbering under Avatar menu > Settings > General > Project IDs, so that new projects receive an ID automatically.
Which fields are mandatory when creating a project?

Yes. In the second step of the wizard, you can choose to create the project as inactive from the start.
What happens if I don't configure any additional settings during creation?
The project is created with system defaults – for example, the default workflow (Not started / In progress / Done) will be used. All settings can be changed afterwards under Manage project > Settings.
