A new project can be created via the + New project button in the main menu.
In the project creation wizard, you can choose whether to create an empty project or use an existing template. More information on creating a project from a template can be found in the article Using project templates.
Creating a new (empty) project

Give your project a
Name
Note
Already used project titles are shown as suggestions. Duplicate project titles are not allowed - smenso prevents the creation of a project with a name that is already in use.

Optionally select a
Project ID: The project ID is a short code that identifies the project system-wide and is used as a prefix before task IDs.

Workspace owners can enable sequential project ID numbering under
Avatar menu>Settings>General>Project IDs. New projects will then automatically receive a consecutive ID - without manual input. - Select a
Project type(mandatory field) - Select a
Project folder(mandatory field) - Confirm your entries by clicking

- In the next step, you can optionally choose whether the project should initially be created as inactive, whether you want to set yourself as a watcher, and whether you should be taken directly into the project.
- Confirm the project creation by clicking
Create project- done.
Adding more settings
Via More settings in the project creation dialog, you can configure additional settings during creation. All settings can alternatively be changed afterwards under Manage project > Settings.

Project lead: Define one or more responsible people -
Budget: Define a rough overall budget -
Project start / Project end: Define start and end dates

Visibility: Define whether the project is open or private. See the article Setting projects to private for more information.

Workflow: Set a custom workflow as the default for new tasks in this project. Without a selection, the system default is used (Not started / In progress / Done).
The last step summarizes all entered data. Click Create project to create the project.
