The Project portfolio provides a central overview of all projects you have access to. You can search, filter, group, and view projects in different formats.
This gives you a cross-project overview of status, responsibilities, dates, and other project information.
Open the Project portfolio
- Open the
Projectsarea in the main menu. - Select the
Portfoliotab at the top. - The portfolio is displayed with the projects you have access to.
Areas under Projects
In the Projects area, several cross-project views are available:
Search
Using Search, you can specifically find projects and narrow them down using filters. Depending on your permissions and configuration, various search and filter options are available.
You can find detailed information in the article Search.
Portfolio as a List
In the List view, projects are displayed in a table. This view is particularly useful if you want to compare or analyze several pieces of project information at the same time.
You can, among other things:
- show or hide required columns,
- filter projects,
- group projects by available information,
- search specifically for projects using the search function,
- summarize supported numerical values at grouping level.
Portfolio as a Board
Using the view selection, you can switch from List to the Board format.
In the Board, projects are displayed as cards. The selected grouping determines the property by which the projects are distributed across the individual columns.
For example, you can compare projects by project status, project management, project type, or another suitable property.
Timeline
In the Timeline, projects are displayed on a shared timeline. This allows you to compare durations, scheduling overlaps, and cross-project planning.
You can find detailed information about how to use it and its functions in the Portfolio Timeline section.
Analysis
In Analysis, you can compile cross-project key figures and analyses.
The analysis consists of various widgets and charts that you can configure according to the desired analysis. This allows you to view, for example, costs, resources, or other portfolio information across multiple projects.
Filter and group projects
In the Portfolio view, you can specifically narrow down the displayed set of projects using Filter.
Various project information is available for filtering. Multiple filters can be combined to display only the projects relevant to the respective analysis.
Using Group by, you can additionally group projects based on a common property. In the example shown, the projects are grouped by contract status.
The number of projects included is displayed directly on the respective group.
Only me
With the Only me option, you can additionally narrow down the Portfolio view to projects with your corresponding assignment.
This allows you to quickly view a personally relevant selection of projects alongside a workspace-wide portfolio overview.
Custom views
You can save the portfolio configuration as a custom view. This means you do not have to recreate recurring analyses every time.
Depending on the area, filters, groupings, visible project information, columns, or other display settings can be part of a view.
Custom views are available, among other places, in the Portfolio, Timeline, and Analysis areas.
Further information
To learn how to create views in the Project portfolio and which settings are saved in the individual areas, see the article Custom views in the Portfolio.

You can mark saved Portfolio views as favorites. This allows you to open frequently used analyses directly from the main menu.
- Open the menu of the desired view.
- Select
Mark as favorite. - The view is then displayed in the main menu under
Favorites.
Open task approvals in Portfolio
In the List view, you can also display information about task approvals across projects.
To do this, display the Approvals column. For each project, it shows how many task approvals are currently still pending.
This allows you to see directly in the Project portfolio which projects still have approvals that need to be processed.
Define the displayed project set
Using the three-dot menu at the top right, you can define which types of projects should be included in the Portfolio.
The following options are available:
-

This allows you to first select the basic project set and then narrow it down further using filters.

The three-dot menu also provides the Rename fields function.
This allows the standard project fields Project folder, Project type, and Location to be adapted to the terminology used in the workspace. The labels can be defined separately for German and English.
Note
The renaming applies to the entire workspace and therefore affects all people who use these fields.
You can find more information in the article Rename default project master data fields.
