⬇️How to import tasks (mpp)

In addition to importing from CSV files, you can also import tasks directly from a Microsoft Project file (.mpp).

  1. Open the project overview
  2. Open the project you want to import tasks into
  3. In the three-dot menu, select Import
  4. In the submenu, select Import tasks from MS Project
  5. Drag the .mpp file into the upload field or select it via browse

Mapping resources

For resources from MS Project to be automatically mapped to the matching people in smenso, the resources in MS Project must be entered using their email address — specifically, the same email address the person uses for their smenso account.

 

Note

If the email address stored in MS Project differs from the person's smenso account email, or if no matching member is found, the affected task is imported without an assignment.

 

Labeling imported tasks

All tasks imported from MS Project are automatically tagged with the label Import MPP, so you can identify them at any time. If this label doesn't yet exist in the workspace, it's created automatically during the import.

 

Tip

The Import MPP label can be removed from tasks again at any time afterwards.

 

Sort order

The sort order of the imported tasks matches the order of the tasks in the MS Project file.
