With the AI Status Report, AI creates a draft status report from a project's tasks. You decide how detailed the report should be, which period it covers and which project data is included. You review and supplement the draft before publishing it. This article explains how to create the report, what the draft contains and what you should consider before publishing it.
Please note
The AI Status Report is one of the AI features. It is available when AI is enabled in the workspace and you are allowed to view AI features. Creating a report uses credits; for more information, see the article How AI credits work. AI generates a suggestion and can make mistakes. Therefore, review the draft before publishing it.
Create a status report with AI
Prerequisite: You are a member of the project and can see the Status section in the project.
- Open the
Statussection in the project. - Click the arrow next to
Newin the top right and selectNew status with AI. - In the
Create status report with AIdialog, set the level of detail, period and data to include (see below). - Click
Create report.
While AI is working, a progress bar (“AI is writing your status report …”) shows the progress. The status report then opens as a draft. Without AI, create reports as usual via New status; see Create, publish & manage a status report.
Level of detail
The level of detail determines how much AI takes into account from the tasks. The preselected INCLUDED DATA (see below), the number of tasks considered and the amount of data change with each level of detail. The selection indicates what is included and how many tasks are considered at most:
- Compact: status and dates only, for a quick overview (up to 10 tasks)
- Standard: tasks including dates and effort (up to 30 tasks)
- Detailed: tasks including assignees, costs and subtasks (up to 45 tasks)
- Complete: all data including hierarchy and descriptions, significantly longer (up to 60 tasks)
If there are more tasks in the period, AI selects the most notable ones. The note may read, for example, “Top 30 of 95 tasks in the period – by relevance score”. Each task receives a relevance score based on how notable it is, for example in the event of a schedule delay, status change or effort deviation. Tasks with a higher score are considered first.
Period
Since last reportLast 30 daysCurrent quarter-
FromandTo: custom period.Fromcan be changed via the calendar icon, whileTois set to today (lock icon).
Since last report is greyed out as long as there is no published report in the project. After the first report has been published, you can select this option.
Included data
Under INCLUDED DATA, you can turn individual data types on or off. Which switches are active initially depends on the selected level of detail, but you can change the selection. The display “2 of 6 selected” shows how many are active (as with the Standard level of detail). The following options are available:
-
Dates: start and due dates -
Effort: planned effort and logged effort -
Assignments: who is working on which task -
Costs: budget and incurred costs -
Hierarchy: subtasks at all levels -
Descriptions: task descriptions
The fewer data included, the fewer credits the creation generally uses. AI only uses tasks that you are allowed to view.
The draft
The status report opens with the note AI draft (“Please review before publishing”). AI has prepared the following:
-
Progress:
Progressis set, in the example to the suggested value of 96%. -
Dates and costs: The
DatesandCostsfields have a status assigned, in the exampleCriticalandAt risk.Goalsremains empty. - Status explanations: Texts with the sections Summary, Progress, Dates and Risks, based on the selected period.
-
Next steps: Suggestions with a title, priority (for example
UrgentorSoon) and description.
AI does not set the Overall status. It retains its default value, Pending in the example, and must be selected by you.
Review and adjust the draft
- Read the texts and compare the figures and statements with the project.
- Adjust texts, statuses, progress and next steps as you would in any other status report.
- Set the
Overall status. - Click
Save as draftto save the report. Only then can you add attachments underFiles. Saved drafts display the note “Being edited by …”. - Click
Publishwhen the report is complete.
Note
Use AI status in the report header to open the Create status report with AI dialog again, for example to select a different period or level of detail. Regenerate in the note also opens the Create status report with AI panel again so that AI can recreate the report. A new suggestion uses credits again.

FAQ
Does AI set the overall status?
No, you set the overall status yourself. AI only prepopulates dates, costs and progress.
Why are tasks missing from the report?
Depending on the level of detail, AI only considers the most notable tasks, such as the 30 with the highest relevance score. Select a higher level of detail or a shorter period if you want more tasks to be included.
Is the report published automatically?
No. AI only creates a draft. You must publish the report yourself.
