Automatic Planning with the Gantt Assistant

With the Gantt Assistant, you can check tasks with Finish-to-Start dependencies for optimizations and then automatically apply the suggested adjustments.
 

Use the Gantt Assistant

  1. Open the Gantt view.
  2. In the top context menu bar, click Automatic Scheduling (magic wand icon).


 

Select Automatic scheduling

In the Automatic Scheduling dialog, you have two options:

  • Resolve overlaps
  • Start date ASAP

Optionally, you can check Avoid weekend starts when rescheduling.

 

Review the preview and apply

The Timeline Assistant first shows you a preview view of the suggested optimizations. You can decide whether you want to apply the changes or discard them. 

  1. Click Preview to see the suggested changes.
  2. Then decide whether you want to Apply or Cancel the changes.


💡 Note:

If the assistant does not find any adjustments (i.e., it does not suggest any changes), the following message appears directly: “There's no need for optimization. Well done!”.
