π― Objective of this section
The Status Reports module is used for the regular assessment of project progress with regard to costs, schedule, quality, and risks.
It is the most important management and communication tool in a construction project.
Standardized templates make it possible to create, publish, and share reports with management quickly.
Structure of the status overview
The status overview shows all reports created for a project β the latest report is always displayed at the top.
- Column β Description
- Title β Name of the report (e.g. Status Report 10/2025)
- Date β Creation or publication date
- Overall status β Traffic light display (on track, at risk, critical, paused, completed)
- Progress [%] β Progress is optional and can be set using a progress bar (including an automatic suggestion).
- Author β Creator or project manager
- Publication status β Draft or released
π‘ Tip:
Status reports should be created regularly, for example monthly β this creates a complete project history.
Creating a new status report
Step-by-step instructions:
- 1οΈβ£ Open the
Statusmenu item - 2οΈβ£ Click
New status - 3οΈβ£ Use a template β select
β Browse templatesvia the star icon - 4οΈβ£ The title is set automatically, e.g.
Status Report 10/2025 - 5οΈβ£ Select the overall status:
- π’ On track
- π‘ At risk
- π΄ Critical
- β« Paused / Completed
- 6οΈβ£ Set progress using the progress bar (optional)
- 7οΈβ£ Add content in the text fields (costs, schedule, goals, risks, organization, etc.)
- 8οΈβ£ Save or publish
π‘ Note:
By using a template, all sections (costs, schedule, goals, etc.) are already prepared β the report only needs to be completed.
Structure and layout of a status report
A complete status report consists of several standardized sections:
- Section β Description
- Overall status β Summary assessment with traffic light color
- Progress [%] β Percentage of completion
- Costs β Assessment of the budget situation (plan, extra costs, change orders)
- Schedule β Assessment of adherence to the schedule
- Goals / deliverables β Evaluation of project results and quality
- Organization / resources β Personnel and organizational situation
- Decisions / risks β Key points for management and control
- Actions / next steps β Planning for the next reporting period
Example wording:
Overall status:
Overall, the project is progressing according to plan. Costs and schedule are currently stable.
Costs:
Due to change orders in the structural shell trade, an additional burden of approx. 3% is expected.
Schedule:
The schedule (LPH 8) is currently being adhered to. Delays are not expected.
Risks:
Material deliveries for MEP are critical; ongoing monitoring is required.
Next steps:
Completion of finishing works by the end of October, followed by acceptance preparation.
Progress and KPIs
Progress is not mandatory and is recorded via a progress bar that you can move with the mouse.
If progress is 0, you do not need to actively set the bar.
The progress bar also provides an automatic suggestion, which is calculated based on the tasks in the project (simplest default: all open and completed tasks in the project).
π‘ Note:
How the suggestion is calculated can be defined in the Status settings via a task filter. Only these βrelevantβ tasks will then be included in the percentage calculation based on their completion status.
Examples of filter criteria:
- Tasks with a specific flavor value (e.g.
flavor("TYPE") == "Date") - Tasks with a specific
label
Charts and widgets
Automatically generated charts are available on the status page:
- Widget β Description
- Project progress β Comparison of PLAN / ACTUAL based on tasks, dates, or costs
- Status history β History of the traffic light assessment over time
- Task status β Share of completed, open, and overdue tasks
These widgets update automatically with each new status report.
Publication and archiving
Once editing is complete, the report can be published:
- 1οΈβ£ Click
Publish - 2οΈβ£ The report is displayed in the dashboard of the project overview
- 3οΈβ£ Previous reports remain archived under
Past status reports - 4οΈβ£ Changes after publication are documented with a timestamp
π‘ Note:
Published reports are revision-safe β subsequent edits are recorded in the history.
Interaction with other modules
Module β Use in the status report
- Project overview β Display of the traffic light assessment and progress chart
- Cost tracking β Basis for assessing the cost situation
- Dates & schedule β Basis for schedule status
- Risks β Display of critical issues
- Minutes / meetings β Transfer of decisions and actions
π‘ Recommendation:
