Follow

You can follow projects to stay informed about all activities and changes. You can also add other people as or teams as followers. Following can be stopped at any time.

Note

Following projects works the same way as following tasks. See the article Following tasks/projects for more information.

 

Following a project

To activate following for yourself:

  1. Open Manage project
  2. Click the 🔔 bell icon in the top right
  3. Select Start following - you will be added as a follower

Tip

When creating a new project, you can add yourself as a follower directly in the last step of the project creation wizard.

 

Adding other people as followers

You can also add other people as followers of a project:

  1. Open Manage project
  2. Click the 🔔 bell icon
  3. Click + Add follower
  4. Search for the person and select them

Added followers will immediately start receiving notifications about changes in the project. Existing followers are listed in the dropdown under Followers and can be removed there using the ✕ icon.

Note

Project leads do not receive automatic notifications about project changes by default. They must actively follow the project to receive notifications.

 

Notifications from following

As a project follower, you receive in-app notifications about relevant activity - for example changes to tasks or new comments. These notifications appear in the Following tab of the notification dialog (🔔 icon in the top right of the app).

 

 

FAQ

Do I automatically receive notifications if I am listed as project lead?

No. Project leads do not receive automatic notifications about project changes. You must actively follow the project to receive notifications.

 

Can I follow multiple projects at the same time?

Yes. You can follow as many projects as you like. All notifications from followed projects appear in the Following tab of the notification dialog.

 

Who can see who is following a project?

All people with access to the project can view the list of current followers in the bell menu.

 

What is the difference between the "Direct" and "Following" tab?

The Direct tab shows notifications from tasks you are directly involved in. The Following tab shows notifications from projects and tasks you are following without being directly involved.

 

Do I also receive email notifications as a follower?

Yes, provided email notifications are enabled globally. You can find the toggle in the avatar menu at the top right under Email notifications. See the article Email notifications for more information.
