How to Archive a Project
Archive your projects so you can locate them later, filter by them, or simply keep them on record without completely losing sight of them.
Select a project tile in the project portfolio. Under the three-dot menu, you'll find the option Archive Project.
Alternatively, you can also archive the project via the master data.
Another alternative:
If the project is already open, you can also archive it directly via the three-dot menu at the top right. Simply click on Archive Project, as shown below.
Archiving via the quick menu:
In the quick menu (left sidebar), you can hover your mouse over the desired project and click the three-dot menu. Then select Archive Project to quickly archive the project without having to open it separately.
The snackbar will show whether the project was successfully archived.
Note about archived projects:
In our system, archived projects are actually treated differently than active ones, but donβt worry, all data is retained. Once a project is archived, you can no longer access its data as easily as when it is active. This means that views (e.g., list, board) are disabled, and tasks are no longer displayed. Nothing is deleted or automatically removed after a certain period; all uploaded documents and information remain safe. When the project is reactivated, all tasks, documents, and project data become available again as usual. There is no automatic deletion, so you can restore the project even after a long time.
Finding Archived Projects
You can view archived projects at any time and also retrieve them from the archive. To do so, open the three-dot menu at the top right of the project portfolio and select Archived Projects under Options.
Reactivating an Archived Project
If you want to make an archived project active again, you can do so via the master data, the three-dot menu in the tile, the three-dot menu in the quick menu, or within the project itself.
Temporary Restoration:
If you open an already archived project directly, youβll see a note indicating that the project is archived. From there, you can either restore it or temporarily restore it. With the temporary option, you can choose whether the project should be reactivated just for Today, 1 Week, or 1 Month. After this period, it will automatically be archived again.
Here too, the snackbar will indicate whether the project was successfully activated.
