You can attach files to status reports – either by uploading them directly or by linking them from OneDrive/SharePoint. Attachments from status reports are also collected in the Files tab of the project.
Note
When creating a status report for the first time, it must be saved as a draft at least once before the attachment features become available.
Attaching Files
You'll find the attachment feature inside an open status report in the Files section.
Upload a File
- Open the status report.
- In the
Filessection, clickAdd fileor the + icon. - Select the desired file.
Note
The maximum file size is 500 MB.
Link a File from OneDrive/SharePoint
- Open the status report.
- In the
Filessection, clickAdd fileor the + icon. - Select OneDrive/SharePoint.
- Choose the file and confirm.
Note
The file remains in Microsoft 365 – no copy is created in smenso. Microsoft permissions continue to apply.
Tip
For detailed information on the OneDrive/SharePoint integration, see the article Attach files from OneDrive/SharePoint.
Manage Attachments
Via the three-dot menu on each attachment you can – depending on your permissions – download or delete the file.
Attachments in the Project
Attachments from status reports also appear in the Files tab of the project. In the status report overview, a paperclip icon in the bottom left indicates that attachments are present – the number next to it shows how many files are attached.
Note
For attachments to appear in the Files tab, the status report must be saved at least as a draft. A report that has only been opened but not saved will not yet show its attachments there.
Permissions & Visibility
- You can only see status report attachments if you have access to the status report itself.
- Deleting and managing attachments requires write or admin permissions.
- For OneDrive/SharePoint links, Microsoft permissions apply in addition.
Troubleshooting
Menus are missing / I can't attach a file
Save the status report as a draft and reload the page if needed. The attachment features should then become available.
Attachment doesn't appear in the Files tab
Check whether the status report has been saved (a draft is sufficient) and whether you have access to the status report.
OneDrive/SharePoint file won't open
Check the Microsoft sharing permissions. When connecting for the first time, a popup blocker may also block the sign-in window – allow popups for smenso in your browser.
Upload fails
Check the file size (max. 500 MB) and your internet connection.
