Description
In project management, existing projects can be updated using a project template. Specific data fields can be transferred without overwriting existing content. This enables quick and efficient adjustments to multiple projects based on a template.
What is applied from the template?
Only the master data of the project template is applied to the existing project. This includes:
-
- Standard fields
- Flavors & Flavor groups
Tasks and other structures from the project template are not applied.

- Open the desired project.
- Click on the three-dot menu (

Manage Project
.
Open the Template Menu
In the Master Data
section, there is a Manage Templates
button in the top right corner, where an existing project template can be selected.

Notes
- This function is available only to users with the
Admin
role, as it can significantly modify existing projects. - The
Custom Selection
option allows for precise control over which elements from the template are applied. - Tasks and other structures from the project template are not imported.
Example
Suppose you have a project with 5 flavors, but you have since added another 5 flavors to the project template. After applying the template, your project will have 10 flavors, and this adjustment includes the flavor groups and assignments, exactly as they are defined in the template.
Conclusion
The ability to update existing projects based on a template saves time and reduces manual effort for large projects. For more information on using project templates, refer to the article Using Project Templates
