π Pin Views as Tabs
With this release, projects are now even more clearly structured:
Save any shared view β e.g., list, board, or timeline views with your own columns, groupings, and filters β and pin it individually for the project for the whole team as its own tab. Give the tab a freely selectable name, an icon with or without color, and determine its position. This way, the project team gets quick access to the most important views you have created for your project.
What tabs could do until now ...
Individual views could be saved and shared with everyone in the workspace, but colleagues still had to actively open them via the view button β and know they existed...
The projectβs tab bar only displayed our standard tabs, although the order of the tabs could already be changed.
... and what this update brings:
π Pin Views
A saved and shared view can be pinned as a new tab. Everyone who opens the project will see the tabs exactly as you selected and designed them. For example, take your view for project participants, or for a "blocker list," an "open items" list, etc., and place it directly as a tab. This makes it an immediately visible navigation element.
ποΈ Custom Tab Name
The name of the tab is freely selectable and independent of the view name. You can of course keep the view name, but it might make sense to name the tab differently or more concisely. For example, the view name 11 - Change Requests can be shortened to CRs.
π¨ Icons & Colors
Use visual codes with icons or emojis and a freely selectable accent color for the icon.
Order via Drag & Drop
Tabs (standard & pinned) can be reordered using the drag handle. This allows you to set the order and place frequently used views all the way to the left.
"More..." Tab
Tabs can also be hidden but remain accessible via the More... tab. This way, you can hide rarely used but still important views/tabs.
π Lock Tab Configuration
By default, Admin and Member roles can configure project tabs. If you want to protect your curated project tabs from accidental changes, simply lock the configuration dialog. Then only you and admins can change the tab settings.
π¨ All tabs, including standard tabs, now support icons & colors!
How to Pin a View
(1) Prepare the view
- Open, for example, the list view β adjust columns, grouping, or filters β click
Save asin the view menu β choose whether the view applies only to this project or globally β share the view in the workspace
(2) Adjust the tab bar
- Click the β― menu at the top of the screen β
Manage Tabs - Hover over a view type you want to pin, e.g., List
- Click the + icon that appears and select from the available views
- Drag the view to the desired position using the drag handle
(3) Set appearance (optional)
- Select an icon/emoji for the tab by clicking the icon to the left of the view title
- Assign a custom name for the tab. You can also keep the view name. If you choose a custom name for the tab, it is independent of the view name.
- Define a color for the icon
(4) Hide in the menu (optional)
- Hover over a view β click the
icon. The view will appear under a new
More...tab. You can hide multiple views in theMore...menu.
(5) Save β done!
From now on, the entire project team and everyone who opens the project will see the new tab.
How to Lock the Tab Configuration
(1) Configure tabs in the project
- Pin views, adjust order, choose icons/colors, set start tab, ...
(2) Lock configuration
- In the same dialog, lock configuration by clicking the π icon
Now only admins and you can make changes. You can remove the lock in the same way.
Tips
- Stay focused and pin, for example, a maximum of 5 views in your project that your team uses daily.
- Use visual codes with icons and colors!
- Hide rarely used tabs in the
More...menu or disable unused views completely
Note
Editing a view (i.e., changing columns, filters, etc.) must still be done via the respective standard tab and by opening the view via the
Viewbutton.
π Improvements
βοΈ Project and Workspace Settings
- A default template for new status reports can now be defined centrally in the project settings.
- Workspace settings can now specify whether time entries in the future are allowed and/or whether time tracking for the previous month should be blocked after a certain day of the current month. By default, both are allowed.
ποΈ Folder Options
- Restrict task creation within certain folders.
- Tasks can now automatically be assigned to the creator.
- New tasks in a specific folder can now automatically be created as private. In this case, the default permission is for the creator, with the option to define additional people.
- Folders can now be moved directly via the context menu within the portfolio list.
π¨ UI/UX & Usability
- In the board view, when using custom workflows, empty statuses are now hidden if no task in the project uses that status.
- Similarly, in the list view, behavior has been aligned so that all statuses in a custom workflow are always displayed, even if there are no tasks in the other statuses of the workflow.
- Empty custom status columns are now also hidden in the board view β consistent with the list view.
- Files tab: Multiple files or entire folders can now be exported as a bundled
ZIP file. - The dialog for linking objects in the editor now shows matching object icons for better clarity.
- The project name can now be printed as additional information when printing a list.
- List widgets on the start page now display their content directly without needing to expand them.
- In the Gantt view, the selected zoom factor is now also saved in views.
- The
Copy valuesfunction in column context menus has been extended to also work for the following standard task fields:Start dateDue datePlanned/Actual effortForecast effort
- Sorting within flavor tables can now be set alphabetically from A-Z and Z-A, toggling as needed. Warning: the original (manually sorted) order will be lost.
ποΈ Improved Performance
- Loading speed has been significantly increased in many areas. Browser refreshes (via the
Refreshbutton) as well as loading lists and tasks in general benefit the most. - Expanding grouping elements in list views is now faster:
π Fixes
π Filters
- The date filter (
Created on) in theAll Tasksview now works as expected. Previously, tasks that did not match the filter criteria could appear. - General stability of date filters has been improved. There were cases where filtering by
Updated onorCreated oncould return tasks outside the criteria. - Filters now correctly handle values with quotation marks when filtering by values from list or multi-select flavors.
- Workload views pinned as tabs in the project now correctly adopt the filters from the pinned view.
βοΈ Tasks & Templates
- The function to convert tasks into subtasks now works reliably.
- Moving tasks with subtasks to another project has been stabilized.
- Task dialogs can now be reopened correctly after interacting with contained subtasks in the task details.
- In the special case where the first folder of a project has a task template including subtasks and various flavors, creating new tasks via the
Newbutton in the list view now correctly applies this template fully. - Checked boxes in Planned/Actual fields in task templates are now also correctly carried over to newly created tasks from that template.
π Workload & Gantt
- Absences now reliably appear in the workload view. Previously, absences were hidden if they extended beyond the set date filter.
- Loading workload views via the sidebar/favorites could cause parameter passing issues in the view being opened. Workload views now load reliably when opened from the sidebar.
- Bulk moving tasks in the Gantt view has been stabilized. Issues could occur when milestones were included in the multi-selection.
- When duplicating folders in the Gantt view, task sorting now remains stable.
π¨ UI/UX & Stability
- Fixed save logic for column descriptions (project-based) so they are no longer overwritten when changing project master data.
- Newly created folders in task lists are now immediately movable (no refresh needed).
- Fixed an issue where date fields in project master data could be incorrectly positioned.
- The priority column now behaves consistently across all roles. Previously, the priority icon could be displayed differently.
- Fixed drag-and-drop error when moving subtasks to the bottom position.
- Fixed an issue where the person dialog did not properly respond to the person search.
- Unnecessary save prompts after opening a description or text flavor cell in the list view are no longer shown if no changes were made.
- In the status report and a status report widget, a console error could occur when only project master data flavors were used when creating the report β this is now stabilized.
- Locked flavors now once again show the stored tooltip.
- Drag-and-drop of flavors in the flavor table of tasks has been stabilized.
- Various UI fixes
- Translation fixes
π€ Exports & Files
- Export function (Excel) has been stabilized and made more tolerant.
- Files tab: Multi-selecting files and/or folders now works reliably.
- After multi-selecting & adjusting assigned people, the selection could remain even after being deselected. The selection display in bulk editing now responds correctly to actions with assigned people.
