9 New Features • 18 Improvements • 35 Bug Fixes
This release is packed! 🚀 The Gantt view now supports Baselines! With backward scheduling during project creation, you can now plan from the end date. On top of that, there are more flexible list views (more options such as flat views), a new project browser, powerful portfolio analysis widgets, and extended workload views. And: Tasks can now be pinned directly as tabs!
✨ New Features
📐 Gantt: Baselines
Compare your current project plan with the original - or even multiple versions. With the new baseline feature in the Gantt view, you can save as many reference schedules (baselines) as you like and compare them against the current state at any time. This way, you can see at a glance which tasks have shifted and where deviations have occurred - ideal for planned vs. actual comparisons in project management.
📋 More Flexible List Views
- Save expand level per view: Define which hierarchy level should be expanded by default when opening a list view - e.g. all levels expanded, only main tasks, or subtasks down to a specific level. The setting is saved with the view.
- Show subtasks flat: A new list option allows you to display all subtasks "flat" - i.e. on the same level as main tasks. This makes it possible for the first time to group and sort subtasks across all levels.
🔍 New Entry Point: Browse Projects
The project portfolio under the Projects menu item gets a new, faster entry point for quick access to your project: A searchable list of your recently opened projects, allowing you to find and open projects directly - including various quick filters.
Note: The project list and the project board, including all saved views, remain accessible under the
Portfoliotab.
📉 Extended Workload Analysis
The analysis feature in the workload view has been expanded: The analysis panel now has its own, more prominent button, is displayed full-screen, and offers a new, scalable time axis (in a weekly or monthly view) for displaying team capacity. Team capacity and planned hours are visualized as line and bar charts - stacked by teams.
📌 Add Tasks as Tabs
In addition to views, you can now pin individual tasks as their own tabs in the project navigation. This also works with project templates: When a new project is created from a template, the tab automatically points to the corresponding task in the new project.
Note: A pinned task in the tabs is automatically visible to all project members.
You can find the feature here: Project > Options menu > Manage tabs > Pin task
Or alternatively in the task detail: Options menu > Add to tabs
✅ Approval Workflows: Single Approval or All-Must-Approve
In the workflow settings, you can now choose whether - when there are multiple approvers - only a single person is sufficient or whether all assigned persons must approve for the workflow step to be considered approved. Additionally, the current approval status (how many persons have already approved) is now visible directly in the task detail.
📊 New Portfolio Analysis Widgets
The portfolio now offers generic bar chart and donut chart widgets. Both chart types can be flexibly configured and duplicated as many times as needed: Freely choose which number or formula flavor values as well as project master data should be displayed as axes and segments. Save your individual analyses as a view. Additionally, the filter in the analysis view has been brought up to date.
📅 Backward Scheduling for Project Creation
Projects created from templates can now be set up not only with a new start date, but also with an end date. The system then automatically calculates all task dates backward and provides you with the matching start date. Perfect for projects with a fixed target date - e.g. events, product launches, or deadlines: You immediately know when you need to start.
🌟 Improvements
🖨️ Gantt: New Print Function & Updated Toolbar
The Gantt view is now printable: The list on the left side is hidden when printing, so that only the drawn timeline is output. The print range automatically follows the first start date and the last end date, but can be freely adjusted for printing. The print output respects the expand/collapse state of levels.
And: The toolbar has received a small overhaul.
📊 Workload: Extended Summary Rows & Capacity Distribution Across Projects
The summary rows in the workload view have been expanded in several steps:
- The summary rows now only consider open (not completed) tasks by default.
-
New metrics:
Capacity minus Planned TimeandCapacity minus Recorded Timeare available as additional summary rows. - A new option in the options menu allows time entries on tasks that are not directly assigned to the person to also be included.
- The team workload now shows the "All Resources" button regardless of HR permissions, so team leads can see their complete team.
Additionally, the workload view now displays a proportional capacity distribution per project. Next to each project name, you can see the proportional hours and the percentage share of the total capacity - so you can tell at a glance how the workload is distributed across projects.
⏱️ New Setting: Visibility of Recorded Time Entries Configurable
In the workspace Settings under Time Tracking, you can now configure whether recorded time entries from other persons should be visible in the task detail or not. The setting is flexibly configurable with various options.
⚙️ Workflow Status: Individually Skip "Value Required"
For any completed status, you can now configure that the check for mandatory flavor values is skipped. This way, tasks can be closed as e.g. "not relevant" without having to fill in all required fields.
📂 Portfolio List: Edit Project Standard Fields Inline
The fields Project Lead, Folder, and Project Type can now be edited directly in the portfolio list view - without the detour through the project settings.
