In addition to the board view, you can view a project’s tasks in a list view and edit tasks directly there.
Edit a task directly in the list
Edit a task directly in the list. Set the status, start date, or due date of a task. Change the task name, set the priority, add another task or a subtask, define costs and effort, and assign the appropriate resources for the task—without opening the task dialog.
Edit a task directly in the task details
Hover over the task you want to edit and click the open icon to open the task details. You can now edit the task as usual and add files and comments or create subtasks.
Add a new task or subtask via the list
Move your mouse pointer to the area in the task list where you want to add a new task. Click the "Create task" icon (usually shown as a plus sign or a similar icon) next to the folder name or within the task list.
Search the list for tasks
Search the list for tasks. To do so, enter the task name or parts of the name in the search field. All tasks that match your input will then be displayed.
To display the full list again and reset the search, the search term must be deleted.
Column definition
Define which columns you want to display in the list. To do this, click the dropdown icon at the top right of any column. A menu opens with options where you can add additional columns or customize existing ones.
You can adjust the column width individually by dragging the column header to the desired size.
Freeze columns while scrolling
In the list view, you can freeze columns so that they remain visible while scrolling horizontally. This is especially useful to keep key information such as the task title or status in view at all times.
To do this, open the column’s context menu via the dropdown icon in the column header and select the option Freeze column. The frozen column will then remain on the left while you scroll through additional columns.
Frozen columns are visually separated from the rest of the table and can be unfrozen at any time using the same menu.
Filter, sort, group
The familiar options for filtering, sorting, and grouping can also be applied to the list to customize the display to your needs.
Filter button in the column context menu
In addition, you can set a filter for the respective column directly from the column context menu. To do so, open a column’s context menu and select Filter or Add filter. This takes you directly to the relevant filter dialog so you can filter specifically by values in that column.
Multi-level sorting in lists
In lists, sorting can now be defined with as many levels as you like. Sort settings are also saved in views.
Usage: Shift + click on sorting in a column, or alternatively, you can now find a Sorting heading in a column’s options menu with the + Add sorting selection.
Here you can also change the sorting order afterwards:
Costumize hierarchy in the list view
In the list view, you can control how tasks, subtasks, and groups are displayed and expanded. This allows you to show the view in a compact or detailed way depending on your needs.
The hierarchy menu in the list view provides the following options:
Quick expand groups
With one click, groups are expanded. With another click, subgroups are also expanded. If all levels are already expanded, another click collapses the view again.
Expand groups
Expands groups in the list.
Expand all
Opens all existing levels and shows the complete hierarchy.
Expand up to level
Opens the hierarchy only up to the selected level. (Up to 6 levels possible)
Show list view as flat
With the Show hierarchy option, you can switch between a hierarchical and a flat display.
If the option is disabled, tasks and subtasks are displayed flat on a single level. This is helpful if you want to see all entries in a compact list, regardless of their nesting.
If the option is enabled, tasks and subtasks appear again in their usual structure.
Save hierarchy settings in views
If you select one of these options and save the view, the selected hierarchy and level settings are saved as well.
When you open the saved view again later, the list view is loaded directly with the same hierarchy settings. This also applies to the flat display and expanded levels.
