In the My tasks area, you can set up your personal work views so that exactly the tasks and information that are currently relevant to you are in focus.
You can create custom views both in the List and in the Board. Depending on the display, different settings are saved.
Note
This article describes the special features of custom views in the My tasks area. To learn how to create, select, modify, or set views as your personal default view in general, see the article Custom views.
Open My tasks
You can find My tasks directly in the left-hand navigation of smenso.
This area combines tasks from different projects that are relevant to you with your personal tasks. For displaying them, the available tabs include List and Board.
Create a view
The basic principle is the same in the List and Board views:
- Open
My tasks. - Switch to
ListorBoard. - Adjust the display to your requirements.
- Open
View. - Select
Save as. - Enter a meaningful name and save the view.
Which settings are saved depends on whether you create the view in the List or in the Board.
Tip
Create views that match your personal workflow, for example This week, High priority, Waiting for feedback, or Tasks by project.
Custom views in the List
The list view offers particularly many options for customizing how your tasks are displayed.
Typical settings of a saved view include:
- applied filters,
- the selected sorting,
- the selected grouping,
- displayed columns and their order,
- adjusted column widths,
- hierarchy and level settings,
- other available display options of the List.
This allows you to prepare, for example, a compact task list with only a few relevant pieces of information or a detailed view with project, responsibility, duration, dates, and labels.
Adjust hierarchy and levels
You can also define how much detail is shown for tasks and subtasks in the List.
Using the hierarchy options, you can define, for example, up to which level the task structure should be expanded or whether tasks and subtasks should be displayed hierarchically.
The selected hierarchy and level settings are also saved with the view. When you open the view again, the List is therefore displayed with the same level of detail.
Additional options
Depending on the current display, additional functions for working with the List are available via the three-dot menu.
These complement the directly visible settings such as filters, sorting, grouping, and columns.
Custom views in the Board
In the Board, your tasks are displayed as cards within columns. You can also configure this display and then save it as your own view.
The most important settings include:
- filters to display only certain tasks,
- the selected sorting of the tasks,
- the grouping that determines how the tasks are distributed across the Board columns.
If you group by status, for example, your tasks are divided into corresponding columns such as Not started, In progress, or Completed.
This allows you to prepare the Board for different personal workflows and save the respective configuration as a custom view.
