In the All tasks area, you can view tasks across projects in a shared list and adapt the display to your requirements using a custom view.
Among other things, you can define filters, columns, sorting, and grouping, as well as control how the task hierarchy is displayed. In addition, you can use Only me to limit the view to tasks that are assigned to you.
Note
This article describes the special features of custom views in the All tasks area. To learn how to create, select, modify, or set views as your personal default view in general, see the article Custom views.
Open All tasks
You can find All tasks directly in the left-hand navigation of smenso.
The area displays tasks from different projects together in a list view. This allows you to compare, filter, and analyze tasks independently of the respective project.
Create a view
First, configure the list the way you want to use it again later.
- Open
All tasks. - Adjust the display using filters, sorting, grouping, columns, or other display options.
- Open
View. - Select
Save as. - Enter a meaningful name and save the view.
When you open the saved view later, the settings it contains are restored.
Tip
Create views for recurring analyses, for example Overdue tasks, Tasks by project, High priority, or Only my tasks.
Which settings are saved?
The list view in All tasks offers various options for adjusting the display. In particular, the following settings can be part of a custom view:
- applied filters,
- displayed columns as well as their arrangement and display,
- the selected sorting,
- the selected grouping,
- the
Show hierarchysetting, - the
Only meoption.
Filter tasks
Using Filter, you can specifically limit which tasks are displayed. This allows you to display only tasks with certain dates, priorities, projects, responsibilities, or other available properties, for example.
Multiple filters can be combined and saved together as part of a view.
Adjust columns
In the list, you can define which task information should be displayed as columns.
Depending on your way of working, you can display information such as Project, Assigned to, Start date, Due date, Priority, or Labels, for example.
The selected column configuration is saved together with the custom view.
Sort tasks
Using Sort, you define the order in which tasks are displayed.
This allows you to place important or time-critical tasks at the top, for example, or use an alphabetical or date-based order.
The selected sorting is included when the view is saved.
Group tasks
Using Group, you can group tasks based on a shared property.
Grouping by Project, for example, is useful for structuring the cross-project task list according to the respective projects.
Alternatively, you can select another available grouping or use No grouping to display all tasks in a single shared list.
Show hierarchy
With the Show hierarchy option, you define whether tasks and subtasks are displayed according to their structure or in a flat list.
- If
Show hierarchyis enabled, tasks and subtasks are displayed in their hierarchical structure. - If the option is disabled, the entries are displayed in a flat list regardless of their nesting.
This setting is also saved with the custom view.
Show only tasks assigned to me
With the Only me option, you can limit the list to tasks that are assigned to you.
If Only me is enabled, other tasks are hidden from the current display. This allows you to quickly focus on your own responsibilities within All tasks when needed.
The state of the option is also saved with the custom view.
Note
Only me does not change the tasks or their assignments. The option only affects which tasks are displayed in the current view.
