Immediate Saving of Field-Level Changes in Task Dialogues

With this update, we introduce a new saving method for task dialogues. With this innovation, we aim to improve the intuitive and efficient user experience when working in task dialogues. 

Changes to fields in task dialogues are immediately saved at the field level. 

Unlike before, when tasks were only saved after closing the task dialogue by clicking outside of it, changes to fields are now saved immediately. Every time a field within a task is changed, be it by entering text, selecting from a dropdown list, or changing the status, this change is saved immediately.

As a result, such changes are directly visible to other members who open the same task, even if the first person still has the task open.

After each change, a brief notification appears at the top of the task, confirming the successful save.

Various Text Field Updates

Editing text fields has been improved across the application.

• Task description fields are now editable in list views.
• Project description fields (description, project benefits, project goals) are editable in the project list.
• Flavors of type 'Text' are editable in all list views. A tooltip also shows a preview of the text when hovering over the field with the mouse.
• Editing flavors of type "Text" or "Text (formatted)" in task dialogues provides the same user experience.
• Status text fields (explanations of status, next steps) can now be opened in a separate dialogue in the portfolio list but are not editable, as they are part of a published status report.
• The text sizes and spacing of all text fields have been standardized.

New Flavor of Type "Text (formatted)"

A new flavor of type "Text (formatted)" offers the possibility to create arbitrary formatted texts as additional fields. All formatting options are available, including uploading media content, linking projects/tasks, etc.

Visibility Control for Flavors

The options for flavors have been expanded again: Previously, flavors could only be hidden from guests. Now, determine which individuals or which teams can see a flavor. A flavor can still be hidden from guests, of course.

The visibility setting is global. If visibility is restricted, only the authorized individuals can see the flavor, no matter where it is used. For everyone else, it is invisible.

Available options are:

• All: Visible to all registered members of the organization and to guests.
• All (no guests): Visible to all registered members of the organization except for guests.
• Selected Individuals/Teams: Visible only to the individuals and teams selected here, invisible to everyone else.

• • Copying flavor values in task detail: In the flavor table, all values of flavors can now be quickly and easily copied to the clipboard. 
    
    
    
  • Printing lists with view name: When a list view is selected, the name of the view is now displayed as a headline in the print export.
  • API link for times: Times are available for API exports. Save a view and click the share button to generate the API link. 
  • Exporting all tasks (list): A CSV export of the 'All Tasks (List)' view can now be created with one click.
  • Improved editing of numerical values in list cells: Editable numerical values are highlighted upon the first click, allowing a value to be rewritten directly. Another click places the cursor at the desired location. 
  • Improved date selection field behavior: When combining selection of start and due dates in tasks (and list cells), the month selected in the other date field is now always offered as a preselection.
  • Indication on required flavors in dialogs: A counter indicates the number of required flavors in task and project master data dialogues and how many of them already have values.
  • Various backend service extensions to improve integrations with third-party applications

🐛 Fixes

• Corrected errors when completing tasks in lists if master data flavors were displayed and marked as 'required' in the respective task. Although all required values were filled, the task could not be set to 'completed' in the list view.
• Deselecting views (back to the system default view) did not work correctly. The column selection is now correctly reset.
• The dialogues for folder properties and project creation have been revised to remain fully usable even at smaller resolutions.
• Corrected drag & drop behavior for manual sorting. In some situations, moving tasks in lists led to errors or incorrect placements.
• Corrected English translation: The system statuses (Not Started, In Progress, Completed) of a custom workflow were still displayed in German when English was selected.
• In widget views (including Home, Project Overview), the saving behavior when changing widgets was stabilized. Particularly when using list widgets, there could be problems if the "original" list widget was not displayed in a view.
• Improved the dialogue for opening a recorded time in time evaluations to also represent large amounts of flavors without the dialogue possibly being cut off.
