This release further expands scheduling and makes collaboration in comments clearer. By popular demand, we now make the interaction behavior between start date, due date, and duration selectable: Workspace owners or admins centrally set the default behavior that generally applies to all projects – but for each project, you can decide anytime whether to plan with fixed dates or fixed duration. Additionally, comments can now be marked as done and pinned.
✨ New Features
📅 Scheduling: Choose Fixed Dates or Fixed Duration
Since the introduction of the Duration field, start date, due date, and duration have been mathematically linked. With this release, you decide how this interaction works: A new Scheduling setting offers two modes that you set per project or centrally in the workspace.
-
Mode
Fixed Dates(default): Behaves as usual. Start and due dates are freely editable and do not affect each other. TheDurationis automatically calculated from both values and serves as an informational display field only. For most users, nothing changes except that the duration is now visible as an additional informative value. -
Mode
Fixed Duration(optional): Here, theDurationis also automatically derived from start and due dates but then remains constant. If you change one date, the other shifts automatically – whether you adjustStartorDue Date. The duration is now also editable – if changed, the start date is fixed and the due date shifts accordingly.
Workspace default and project setting
The mode is defined in two places that work together: at the workspace level, admins set the default for scheduling. Every project follows this default automatically, but can set a different one if needed. If the workspace default changes, all projects that follow it change with it. Projects with their own setting are unaffected.
Note: For existing workspaces, nothing changes about the familiar behavior. All projects keep running in
Fixed datesmode — exactly as before. TheDurationfield simply appears as a new calculated value. Switching toFixed durationis a deliberate step.
💬 Complete and Pin Comments
Comments become a real working tool: Comments can now be selectively checked off and important contributions pinned permanently to the top.
-
Complete comments: Mark individual comments as done, e.g., when a question is answered or a to-do from the discussion is completed. Completed comments are marked accordingly and can be hidden via
Hide Completedif desired, so you can focus on open points. -
Pin comments: Pin an important comment to keep it permanently at the top in the
Pinnedsection. This keeps key notes or decisions visible without getting lost in the thread.
🌟 Improvements
- Set file upload target folder in folder properties: In the properties of a list folder, you can now specify which project file folder attachments should go to. This applies to all attachments from tasks located in this list folder. Uploaded files are thus automatically sorted into the right place instead of needing manual sorting.
-
CSV import extended by
Duration: The newDurationfield can now also be filled via CSV task import. This allows you to import the time span of your tasks directly without needing to update it afterwards.
🐛 Bugfixes
- Workload: Save view options: View options in the workload are reliably saved again and persist after refresh or when switching between views.
- Portfolio list: Expand folders: Folders in the portfolio list can be reliably expanded again.
- Relation flavors when creating new projects: When a project is created from a template with a new start or end date and dates are recalculated, the values displayed via relation flavors in the project master data now update correctly. Previously, relation flavors showing, for example, the due date of a linked task still showed old dates even though the newly created tasks were correctly assigned.
- Task templates in projects: Task templates defined in the project settings are now correctly applied again when creating new tasks.
