In the portfolio analysis, you also have access to generic chart widgets. These include a Bar Chart and a Donut Chart
Both chart types can be configured flexibly and used multiple times within a single view.
General information about widgets (e.g. show/hide, arrange, save) can be found in the article “Widgets: Overview, customization & use cases” .
Widget configuration
You can customize the widgets individually.
You can:
- use numeric fields or formula values (e.g. budget, effort)
- define project master data or categories (e.g.
status, project type) as axes or segments
This allows you to create individual analyses for your entire portfolio and save them as a view.
Bar chart
The bar chart is suitable for comparisons and contrasts.
The following example shows planned effort by project type. This allows you to see how effort is distributed across different project types and compare which areas are particularly resource-intensive.
Typical use cases include:
- Planned vs. actual effort by project type (e.g. development, testing)
- Number of risks per project (e.g. stacked by severity)
- Adherence to milestone deadlines per project
- Budget distributions by projects or categories
Stacked bars are supported. The total per bar is displayed, while individual segment values can be viewed by hovering over them with the mouse.
Donut chart
The donut chart is suitable for visualizing distributions and proportions.
Typical use cases include:
- Project distribution by
status(e.g. On track, At risk) - Budget distribution by project categories
- Task status across all projects
- Share of blocked tasks in the portfolio
- Resource distribution by projects
- Distribution by strategic goals (e.g. growth, efficiency)
Save views
You can use the configured widgets:
- multiple times
- duplicate them
- and save them as your own views
This allows you to use different analyses in parallel.
The unit of the displayed values (e.g. €, hours, or count) is automatically determined based on the selected field.
