Details
Especially in the context of an overall project portfolio, a uniform evaluation of all projects is of particular importance. Which projects are worthwhile in terms of implementation? Which projects are urgent? Which projects contribute most to the corporate strategy?

Project Analysis
The project analysis is an important component for cross-project analyses. Due to the free structuring of projects by labels and flavors, there are many possibilities to carry out project analyses. We describe here a best practice approach that has proven itself in many projects and can be adapted to your own needs at any time.
Criteria for a project analysis:
- Process quality
- Strategy contribution
- Urgency
- Risk
- Costs
Of the above, we will examine the criteria of strategy, urgency and costs in more detail. Of course you can also develop the others.
Let's create the project analysis:
- Open the master data of a project
- Create or open the Flavor Analysis: Strategy and Analysis: Urgency. Define these two flavors as follows:
- 1 - low
- 2
- 3
- 4
- 5 - medium
- 6
- 7
- 8
- 9 - high
- Do not forget to enter your budget 😉
It already was. Rate all the projects in your portfolio. As you can see in the screen, you can use additional labels or flavors to classify your project even further.
Portfolio Analysis of the evaluated projects
For the cross-project evaluation of the evaluated projects we recommend the bubble sheet type (menu Projects → Analysis). Enter here in the X-axis the Flavor Analysis: Urgency and in the Y-axis the Flavor Analysis: Strategy. As bubble size you choose the project budget.
You will then receive an evaluation of your projects at portfolio level. As described above, you can select additional flavors or labels to determine the number of projects you want to include in the analysis. Suitable examples can be found here.
This evaluation clearly shows which projects are really urgent and how high the strategic contribution to the achievement of the company goals is. The further "right above", the more urgent and strategically important. The graphical representation helps to create order and to work on the right projects.
