In smenso, you can use comments in every task to communicate directly within the context – for example, to ask questions, add information, or draw team members’ attention to something.
What are comments useful for?
Comments help capture agreements and context directly within the task. Typical examples include clarification questions about implementation, short status updates, coordination (“We’ll go with option B”), notes during handovers, or sharing links/files related to the task.
Mentioning team members
If you want to involve someone specifically, mention the person in the comment using @Name. This ensures the message reaches the right person directly.
Notifications for comments
You will receive a notification when someone comments on a task that is directly assigned to you. You will also receive a notification if someone mentions you via @Name – even without an assignment.
Reactions with emojis
You can also quickly react to comments with emojis without writing a separate reply. This is useful, for example, for “seen,” “agreed,” or “please review.”
Comment options
Using the three-dot menu (…) on a comment, you can perform additional actions:
- Copy link: Copies the direct link to the comment, which you can, for example, send to a person who has access to the workspace.
- Edit: Allows you to modify the comment afterwards.
- Create task or subtask from comment: Creates a task or subtask directly from the comment. You can find more information here.
- Delete: Removes the comment.
Notes
- If you would like to learn more about notifications, take a look at these articles: Notifications in the Web App and Email notifications.
- Use
@Nameto reach people directly – ideal for follow-up questions, approvals, or handovers directly within the task. - Emoji reactions are suitable for quick feedback (e.g. “seen” or “agreed”) without extending the comment thread.
