Description
Flavors can be used in time tracking to capture additional information for time entries. Furthermore, flavors from other contexts can be displayed in time evaluation to enable more detailed analyses.
Using Flavors in Time Tracking
Flavors can be added and used directly in time tracking to capture structured additional information such as categories, project assignments, or status values.
Steps:
- Open the
time tracking
module. - Click on the
tag icon
to display available flavors. - Select an existing flavor or click
More Fields
to add new flavors.
Important Notes:
- Flavors in time tracking apply system-wide. Once a flavor is added here, it is available to all users in the system.
- Unlike tasks or projects, flavors are not added individually to each time entry but are globally available.
- Configuring a flavor with the
Time
context is not mandatory, but it helps with organization since these flavors are then categorized in the column selection.
Displaying Flavors in Time Evaluation
In time evaluation, flavors from other contexts (e.g., projects, tasks, or people) can be displayed as additional columns.
Steps:
- Open the
Time Evaluation
. - Click on the
column menu
to add new columns. - Select the desired flavor from the available options.
Important Notes:
- In time evaluation, flavors from other contexts can be displayed but not edited.
- Flavors with the
Time
context are grouped in a separate category in the column selection.
Example: Flavors in Time Evaluation
In time evaluation, related flavor values from different contexts can be displayed. In the screenshot, the label (P)
indicates a value from the project master data of the project to which the time is booked—here, the priority. The label (Pe)
shows a value from the personal master data of the individual who logged the time—here, the substitute.
Possible Contexts for Flavors
- No Context (all flavors not assigned to a specific context)
- Status Reports
- Tasks
- Projects
- People
- Time
Conclusion
Flavors in time tracking allow for structured recording of additional information. In time evaluation, flavors from other contexts can be added as additional columns to enable deeper analysis. By selecting relevant flavors, time evaluation can be customized to specific needs.
